TipToptweet lets users of twitter tell the world which @users or web links they find useful or interesting. We collect the results so that you can find interesting twitter users and interesting web links, as voted for by the real people of twitter. To use the service check out how to vote.

What Problem is it Solving?

There are millions of users on twitter all talking about millions of subjects, but there is no real way to know who is saying something interesting and who isn't. By letting users vote we should be able to get a better idea about who is actually being interesting on Twitter.

How To Vote

• Add #voteup or #votedown to a tweet which contains either a web link or a @user.
  • @user1 I like what you just said! #voteup
  • Check this out http://www.SomeLink.com #voteup

How To Tag A Vote

• Just add the the #hashtag to your tweet to categorize your vote.
  • @user2 You're truly awesome with #development advice! #voteup
• You can vote in up to 5 categories at once.
  • @user1 man you suck at speeches! #speaker #fail #laugh #votedown
  • Check out this awesome link http://somelink.com #development #useful #voteup

How To Vote For Multiple People / Links at Once

• Simply add more users or links to your tweet!
  • Thanks for all the #goodAdvice @user1 and @user2 and the useful link http://url.com ! #voteup

Are There Any Voting Restrictions?

• You can only vote for a @user or a link once per day. (Although you can vote for as many different links or @users as you like)
• If you do vote for a @user or a link again in the same day, your new vote will over-write your original vote
• You can attach a maximum of 5 tags to each vote

I'm glad you asked! As we don't place any restrictions on vote categories its easy to do lots of things. Some ideas:

• Let the world know what you think about things online or other users
• Start an online poll: choose a fairly unique #hashtag and get all your friends to vote up other users or links, then sit back and see who wins!
• Go Viral: Get enough people to re-tweet a vote for something you care about (like a blog post) and you could end up at the top of all the rankings! (a re-tweet with a #voteup hashtag is counted as a separate vote)
• Find out who other people REALLY enjoy following. Maybe Britney and CNN have all the followers, but which celebrity has made the most interesting tweets?
